DrinkMore Custom Water Makes A Splash With Mitsubishi Fuso Medium Duty Trucks

DrinkMore Custom Water’s business depends on the reliability of its commercial truck fleet. That’s why they’ve chosen Mitsubishi Fuso.

Eye-catching ads on two Mitsubishi Fuso trucks may make other drivers long for a cold bottle of water, but it is the trucks’ performance that is making their owner thirst for more Mitsubishis in his fleet.

John Walsh, President of DrinkMore Custom Water in Gaithersburg, MD, commissioned custom graphic wraps for two trucks in his fleet after winning the wraps as a trade show prize.  The ads depict giant bottles of water (customers paid to have their products featured) and splashes of water.   He says the ads command lots of attention on the road, and have even led to numerous sales calls for his 4-year-old company, which specializes in the design, production and delivery of custom-label bottled waters.

As for the trucks themselves, they are part of a 22-cabover fleet, comprised almost entirely of Mitsubishi vehicles. Walsh says that he tried other truck brands, but had numerous bad experiences.  His business’s parent company, DrinkMore Water retail stores, already had some experience with Mitsubishis in its fleet and suggested the vehicles to him.

“We’re hauling full loads,” Walsh says.  “Other trucks wore out, but Mitsubishis can take the beating we put on our vehicles.”

Walsh says durability is his top concern when it comes to shipping products throughout large metropolitan areas.  Four drivers put about 3,000 miles a month on the typical truck, making deliveries from just north of Baltimore all the way down to Fredericksburg, VA. And while Walsh says there have been a few problems along the way (“Nothing is perfect,” he says), overall he is completely satisfied with his Mitsubishi vehicles.

“They are reliable, and that’s important to me,” he says.

Walsh also cites the trucks’ ease of driving as another big plus.  All of the trucks in the DrinkMore Custom Water fleet have automatic transmissions, and are small enough so they do not require a CDL for drivers.

Walsh says that the DrinkMore Water and DrinkMore Custom Water trucking fleets will soon be exclusively Mitsubishi.

“The performance and price can’t be beat,” Walsh said.  “That’s why we were one of the first people to take delivery of the new 2005 cab design, and that’s why there will definitely be more Mitsubishis in our future.”
