Logan Township, NJ — MFTA Canada, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc., Logan Township, NJ, established its first dealership in Canada in July 2000. The company continued to build its commercial truck dealer network, and just over five years after opening its first dealership, the company sold its 1,000th medium duty cabover work truck in Canada.
But the rate at which MFTA Canada has added dealers and sold trucks has been increasing. In November of 2007, one of MFTA Canada’s dealers, Central Mitsubishi Fuso, Ottawa, ON, delivered the 2,000th Mitsubishi Fuso truck to a Canadian buyer. A bit of math confirms that it took the company and its growing dealer network just 26 months to double the number of Mitsubishi Fuso trucks plying the roads of Canada.
According to Robert E. McDowell, president and CEO of MFTA Canada, “We’re very pleased with our success in Canada, and continued expansion of our Canadian dealer network is a key part of our growth strategy.”
The company now has 19 dealers across the country, and is actively looking to add more.
