Logan Township, NJ, September 26, 2005 — John
R. Schaaf has been promoted to the position of senior vice
president of operations for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America,
Inc. (MFTA), effective October 1, 2005. Schaaf was formerly
regional vice president of the company’s western region.
In his new role, Schaaf will be responsible for directing
the company’s sales, service, parts and distribution
operations. He takes over for Robert E. McDowell, who was
recently named president and CEO of MFTA.
In announcing Schaaf’s promotion, Bob McDowell noted, “John
has been instrumental in MFTA’s development and growth
over the years. We’re looking forward to having his
organizational skills and experience guiding our operations.”
Schaaf comes to his new position with more than 30 years
of experience dedicated to the truck industry, having worked
for Mercedes-Benz and Isuzu before joining MFTA in October
1994. His first assignment within MFTA was as a district
sales manager in Florida. After distinguishing himself
in that position, he was promoted and moved to the company’s
western region as regional vice president, where he oversaw
sales operations for 16 western states. He remained in that
position until his current promotion.
Mr. Schaaf and his wife will relocate to the Logan Township,
NJ/Philadelphia, PA area shortly.
