In an expansion of its logistics capabilities, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA), based in Logan Township, NJ, has signed an agreement making the Port of Tacoma its fourth point-of-entry for its full line of commercial trucks.
Logan Township, NJ — Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) has confirmed that the Port of Tacoma, WA, is joining Baltimore, MD, Jacksonville, FL, and San Diego, CA, as a port of entry for Mitsubishi Fuso cabover medium duty trucks, and the first shipment of its trucks are rolling off the ship from Japan.
The addition of the Port of Tacoma to MFTA’s logistical resources will shorten time-to-delivery significantly for its dealers and customers in the Pacific Northwest, both on the U.S. and Canadian sides of the border, compared to the times required to move product from San Diego or Baltimore.
Port servicing of MFTA vehicles at the Port of Tacoma will be handled by Automotive Warehousing Inc. (AWI), a long-time operator at the Port of Tacoma. AWI will receive all Fuso trucks arriving at the port from Japan, store the vehicles, add any port-installed options, prep them for delivery, and coordinate shipment to their final destination.
